Medieval Fort, Sud Ardèche stunning loft with pool

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

The cabin is located above the Lou Abeilhs farmhouse with a bird's eye view of the valley. To access it from the parking lot there is a small path of 150 m and about forty steps. This entire independent accommodation offers you all the comforts you need for a peaceful break, whether for a weekend or an extended stay. Our 128 m2 cottage is located in a former convent, right next to the church of Borne. Borne is located 12 km from Puy en Velay, 6 km from Saint Vidal Castle. In September, don't miss the King of the Birds festival. Le Puy is one of the starting points for the Camino de Santiago, it is a beautiful city, rich in history. Haute-Loire is famous for its gastronomy and beautiful hikes. Come and see us!
