“Everything was wonderful and staff were amazing. The caretaker Timothy was always on hand and responsive to anything we needed. If you want to pay 1500 Ksh (or 15 USD) a day you get an amazing cook who made even simple dishes perfectly, and you don't have to leave the premises. There were staff making sure it was clean throughout the day. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and they attended to us so well that we felt much more pampered than we've ever been at any hotel or Airbnb before this. My wife and I loved all the decorations too, you can really tell Alberta had some wonderful times there and collected some really distinct furnishings. There is a nice pool to swim in and the beautiful beach is about a 5 min walk. There were even people they could call in if you wanted things like a massage or laundry done, and the massage was excellent. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the snorkeling company the staff recommended. For one thing it was originally advertised as "swimming with dolphins" which we double checked would likely be part of it when the representative talked to us. Despite those assurances, we did see dolphins on the trip once but they made no effort to let us enter the water with them. Also it was billed as a whole day experience which, even though it took the whole day at a full nine hours, it ended up being one dive of only one hour of snorkeling. The rest was travelling, about an hour to drive to the boat drop-off and multiple hours riding around in choppy waters in a large boat packed full of people, with another stopoff for lunch. Even though everyone was nice and the actual snorkeling was fun, it was a large amount of false advertising about the dolphins and way too much traveling to justify it all. We also did scuba diving as brand new beginners for two half day sessions for a slightly bigger price and not only was it more convenient (being off Diani Beach itself, not some other island), but you got more water time and honestly saw better stuff. Despite that minor gripe (which wasn't entirely the fault of the Taj Riviera staff anyway), the experience was amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.”
A private house located just off the main Diani Beach Road, close to both the Leisure Lodge Golf Club Hotel and the Diani Beach Hospital. The house is just a short walk to the northern end of the beautiful Diani Beach. The house is fully staffed all year round and includes a Private Chef ,night guard, gardener, house boy ,house girl and house manager. Unlike some listings for Diani beach the whole place is yours you will not be sharing with any one else so complete privacy is guaranteed.
“This compound is a tranquil oasis in Diani. The pool is spectacular and with the covered game area, there is lots to do. The layout is perfect for a large group as everyone has some privacy and there are many attractive places to lounge. The staff is exceptional -- extremely helpful and kind, with an excellent chef. The beach was only a short walk away, and shopping and restaurants within walking distance as well. We highly recommend this for a relaxing holiday!”
Set under a giant fig tree, a cosy two bedroom & loft cottage, only a minute walk to the beach. The cottage is set on a private property, surrounded by indigenous trees, home of several troops of monkeys including a very special Black and white Colobus monkey. A part of a property has an ocean view where sun beds are set up. You can stay under a tree reading a good book while listening to the sound of the sea and watching monkeys at play. Bedrooms are air-conditioned.
“The Cozy Cottage is a beautiful house. It is bright and modern, super clean and you feel 100% safe there. The garden is well maintained and the terrace invites you to linger. You can watch the monkey playing and eating. The beach is less than 5 minutes on foot. Tip: Make sure to ask a chef and enjoy original Swahili cuisine. Josephine (caretaker) was very friendly and helped us with our laundry (washing a large basket + ironing, 1000 ksh). The security guards were also very friendly and you can chat with everyone on site and learn more about Diani. We also booked a safari with "Eyes on Africa" (reputable agency), the office is right next to the cottage. Ask about Maxwell, he was a great safari guide with a lot of experience and knowledge (he is also a bird specialist). We had a wonderful stay at Cozy Cottage and would come back again and again!”
