My daughter enjoyed this for something different. She did the nature trail and collected items. She also did a craft and learned about some sea life. Do you know what a mermaid purse is? We do now! Also, it is free and has a little playground.

Very nice nature walk which takes about an hour. Takes you into the wetlands and back on a trail and boardwalk. Free of charge. Great for families.

Inside the nature center, visitors can explore interactive exhibits, including “Our Inland Bays…A Delicate Balance,” which allows visitors to ‘virtually’ explore the Inland Bays watershed from the headwater streams, through the maritime forests, across the salt marshes to the bays using a state-of-the-art presentation called an I-Wall. Outside, visitors can make a similar exploration through forest and marsh along a handicap-accessible boardwalk with has been built to lead you through each habitat with educational signage to keep you informed along the way. The 26-acre conservation area includes three acres of forested uplands, nine acres of freshwater wetlands, and fourteen acres of tidal wetlands.

The Nature Center is consistently ranked one of the top 10 Things to Do in Bethany Beach on TripAdvisor. Open year round, the Nature Center offers event-specific activities designed to encourage awareness of our Inland Bays and Wetlands while providing hands-on fun for kids of all ages.

On Saturday mornings they have a short program for little kids and there is a short trail behind the nature center as well
