Most of our guests arrive by car, occasionally by bicycle, and a few by train which takes around 2 hours from Sydney. The station is a $15 taxi ride from the cottage. There's usually a taxi waiting.

Blackheath Station, on the Blue Mountains Line is 2km from Kanimbla View. The trains journey from Sydney Central is approximately 2 hours. There is a taxi rank outside the New Ivanhoe Hotel, a 5 minute walk from the station. There are also regular buses from Blackheath to Katoomba. Valley Cottage is on Shipley Road, Shipley Plateau, 2.5 km from Blackheath. There is no public transport to our location.

Train station close to Blackheath Village pubs, restaurants, cafes, antique shops, home-wares, butchers, fruit and vegetable shop and supermarket.

A few nice cafes here - and also an antiques co-op. The cafes get very busy, so pays to arrive early for brunch.
