Blackie Spit offers a great walking path along the dikes that has a nice little loop that take 20 to 45min depending on how fast you are going. The full beach and dike loop is about 3km and a perfect jog run route.

Excellent venue for a walk - the sea air is bracing and the scenery lovely. Also features an offleash dog area.

Hang out at Blakie Spit Park. The Park's 5-km nature trail & an off-leash dog area has two large dog off-leash areas, community gardens, and a boardwalk jutting out to Wickson Pier, offering a gorgeous view over Mud Bay and the North Shore Mountains.
