The original capital of Bizkaia, Bermeo is a hidden gem. Nested between the bay of Biscay and the green Sollube mountains, you will find our small, unassuming and down to earth village. Enjoy the beautiful views of the sea and Laida from the port or Tala area. Walk for 5 mins to get to the hidden wild beaches of Tala and have a quick swim in peace or walk 10 min from port to the beautiful sandy beach of Aritzatxu. And if you fancy going for a longer hike, not to worry. You can be on little path walking towards the countryside in only a few minutes. The town itself is charming, local and authentic. You can spot beautiful art, fisherman flats, glass boxes with saints attached to little alleys, and of course local bars with pintxo (pronounced pincho). Make sure you sample the world famous Bermeo Tuna before you leave!

This is one of our favorite places in Bizkaia. Small but very rich in culture with fantastic views. You can get there by Euskotren (with can help you with that 😉), just 1.5 hours away. If you can, we recommend you visit Bermeo!
