The complex is dedicated to celebrating the rich history of Mossel Bay. It is named after the Portuguese explorer who discovered the area in 1488. Don't miss the Post Office Tree, the oldest post office in South Africa. It is where the first written letter was left (likely in a shoe), warning whoever read it of the troublesome conditions in Calcutta.

Mosselbay is the oldest town in the country so I believe that the museum is a must-see!

A lovely museum perched on a hill overlooking the ocean in Mosselbay. A fantastic replica of the ship that Bartolomeu Dias used is also housed here.
