Food Scene

Naschmarkt is also a wonderful market, but this is much quieter and very local. Perfect any time of day.

Vienna is renowned for it's coffee culture. This is one of the cheaper 'classic' places. Old design, suit-clad waiters, and delcious desserts.

Located close to the apartment is a beautiful, old manor that now serves as a restaurant. The food is quite delicious and there is a nice outdoor area.

The best coffee is Vienna, in my humble opinion. Also, get a seat outside and get caffeinated with a view of the Votiv church, and watch the city roll past.

Sightseeing

Located essentially 'within' the city, these slopes will allow you to wander aimlessly, stopping to taste the local product from the vineyards, and have the best view of Vienna. Absolute must. You are allowed to bring your own food, as long as you buy wine. Take the bus to kalenberg, soak in the views from there. Perhaps indulge in a Sacher torte and coffee in the cafe, enjoying them from the balcony overlooking the city. Then wander down through the vineyards as the sun slowly sinks behind the gnetly undulating slopes around you. Many other cities have great architecture and good food scenes in Europe. Few have this option. Definitely make time (4-6 hours) to do this.

Speaks for itself. The internet has reams of information about this spot. Worth walking up the hill to the Gloriette, and viewing the palace and city from there. Quite expensive to go inside.

Parks & Nature

Gorgeous national park located in the city. So unused that many Vienna locals have never even used it. Walk, or rent a bicycle, and splendour in the delights of the park.

The summer in Vienna is scorching. Hit the water to swim, or rent a boat and pedal along the Danube. Make friends with some swans and have a few beers under the rays.

Arts & Culture

The tickets are available on their website. 2 lesser-known things: it has a projector outside every night and you can sit and watch for free with a bottle of wine. Also, there are cheap standing only tickets. You must queue up for a few hours in advance but they are 3 euro. You get to see world-class theatre/opera for a cheap price.
