Saint Jeannet is dated back to XIV century when it was close to the border between kingdom France and princhood of Nisa (Nice). It did not changed much since then. The narrow labirith of narow street, they were good for horsbacks and only few of them are wide enough for cars today, winds up and down at the foothill of the rock of the same name. At the begining it was named Saint Barbe. The bar, and the restaurant at the entrance to the old town holds this name as the reminiscence of the past.

Food

Start your day with the baguete and croisant from "La Boulange...rit" for breakfast and have espresso of chocolate at "Bar Tabac Chez Liza" . There are few good places to eat - something for everyone. If you are looking for the best pizza in the southern France - go stright in to "Le Vieux Four" in the midle of the town. For a dinner "el fresco" with the view towards the sea you will not find better place than "Le Sainte Barbe". Find "La Table des Baous" tucked away from the main path for the excellent dinner.
