Arts & Culture

Donald Judd's famous works, including his iconic "Works in Concrete." Hours of different exhibits vary, but seeing the concrete blocks is possible every day. Walkable from our house! We recommend Robert Irwin's "Dawn to Dusk" exhibit, which is only open at specific times, but accessible on the outside at all hours.

You've heard of Prada Marfa... this is Target Marathon! Look for the Target logo on a tiny, old railroad maintenance shack. It's very easy to miss, so try to use Google Maps so you know when to stop.

Sightseeing

We've seen the lights many times. You'll have a 50% chance of seeing them... lower in the summer, higher in the winter. They're electromagnetic orbs, flaming/floating in the air, viewable from about 40 miles off via binoculars the viewing center has. Make sure it's pitch black when you go out!

If you're feeling adventurous, and have your passports handy, an afternoon visit to Ojinaga (known locally as "OJ") is a fun outing. Near the public square, we can recommend the local heladeria, dulceria, and restaurant Los Comales. The town is very small/quiet, with really nice people. It's of course helpful to know some Spanish. :-)
