Very tasty Thai food, and normally quite busy, so booking advisable. You can also take out food (take away) and enjoy back at the house. Low to medium priced

Very popular with the French tourists, and slightly quirky . An electric toaster at most tables in the lower part of the restaurant, if you wish to toast your bread. The meals are varied, with on occasions some Moroccan dishes on the menu, and traditional dishes too. Normally busy, so booking advisable.

Lovely setting atop Domme, with stunning views from the terrace. Good menu and quite pricey. This is an hotel restaurant, and we have received one or two recommendations from previous guests.

Sightseeing

If you enjoy a bit of cave sightseeing, then this is for you.. A different approach to your regular guided tours, as this one is a guided tour by a small boat within the huge cave system. Normally French spoken with English written cards, but the sights tell it all. You can step out off the boat for a midway walking tour, before your journey back by boat. Worth a visit. Take a light rain smock, as you can get a little wet from above. http://www.gouffre-de-padirac.com/#/en

A formidable castle that overlooks the river Dordogne across to Beynac castle. Lots of information and displays within this lovely castle, depicting the history of the castle's involvement in the 100 year war, and of course some great views too! Guided tours available, and interactive games for children. Demonstrations of warfare enactments etc http://castelnaud.com/en/ http://www.beynac-en-perigord.com/en/

Parks & Nature

High up on the grounds above Le Roque Gageac . This is a pleasant walk through some lovely grounds, and has some lovely views of the river Dordogne along the way. A small childrens play area and tree house is found amongst the grounds. Also has a nice tearoom and restaurant. http://marqueyssac.com/?lang=en

Shopping

Lovely setting to do some shopping, with some great architecture within the town of Sarlat. Biggest market is held on Saturdays, for all the fresh local produce, and clothing, pottery etc.... If visiting the Market on Saturday, best to get there before 09:00 to ensure parking. There is a smaller market held on Wednesday too. (Mainly produce)

Essentials

Cenac's local supermarket is a small Carrefour. Opens Mon-Sat 09:00-20:00, closed Sundays. For emergency Sunday groceries, there is a small "Casino" supermarket within Domme. Just a few mins drive from the house.

Entertainment & Activities

There is an abundance of canoe hire along the river Dordogne, and the closest one from the house is located along the banks as you enter Cenac itself. We suggest though, hiring a canoe from Canoe Loisirs in Vitrac (5 min drive from the house), as you can park your car there, and take a canoe and paddle your way down river through Cenac, and finish at Castelnaud, where you will be collected and taken back to your car in Vitrac. There are various routes you can elect to be collected from. The river is actually quite shallow most of the way. http://www.canoes-loisirs.com/
