This is absolutely the best and closest place for breakfast. Very inexpensive and portions are large. Order the Americana breakfast if you are a bacon lover. Open air dining and very casual. Don't forget the Gallo Pinto!

One of the absolute best views in all of Costa Rica. A huge investment was made here at the top of the seaside peak. Sunsets are celebrated and a huge Gong is struck at sunset. This is a fine dining restaurant. Food is not bad, menu is limited but don't expect too much for the price. The Restaurant has an infinity Pool with fire that comes up through it. The bar is a wonderful setting as well. If you have a special event, this would be a great place to celebrate!

Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas
One of the absolute best views in all of Costa Rica. A huge investment was made here at the top of the seaside peak. Sunsets are celebrated and a huge Gong is struck at sunset. This is a fine dining restaurant. Food is not bad, menu is limited but don't expect too much for the price. The Restaurant has an infinity Pool with fire that comes up through it. The bar is a wonderful setting as well. If you have a special event, this would be a great place to celebrate!

This is an excellent, Italian owned restaurant upstairs in the shopping center at Flamingo beach, just past the new marina. It has a fantastic atmosphere, and the Pizza and Italian dishes are very good! This is a excellent choice for one night during your stay.

Overall good food and oceanfront! Turn left after the Potrero soccer field and you will see it on right at the ocean. Try the Casada plate and choose your protein! Great value. If you want to splurge order the coconut shrimp.

Entertainment & Activities
We love this new addition next to the two Riu Hotels. There is a zoo like nature park where you can see and learn about most of the native animals to Costa Rica. The Park is nicely done and also has the longest Zipline in Costa Rica where you will zip high above the ground and see the mountains and the Ocean Below. This is a minimum half day attraction.

350 east RIU HotelWe love this new addition next to the two Riu Hotels. There is a zoo like nature park where you can see and learn about most of the native animals to Costa Rica. The Park is nicely done and also has the longest Zipline in Costa Rica where you will zip high above the ground and see the mountains and the Ocean Below. This is a minimum half day attraction.
Buena Vista is a must if you need something that will take up almost a full day. So if your not into that, pack a piknik and enjoy the cooler temperatures and the stunning views from up there. Monkeys!

Buena Vista is a must if you need something that will take up almost a full day. It's nestled in the top of a mountain and offers so much such as ziplining with a bridge tour (if you want to see the zipliners but don't want to yourself), horseback riding, mud baths, waterfall hike, and a giant tubular water slide that cascades down the mountain and terminating in the swimming pool. Generations of families have been making pottery in this little village for over 900 years. You will find them when you enter the town. Most will give you a demonstration on how they create these beautiful pieces and allow you to watch and even join in. Great quite day and friendly people!

Parks & Nature
Tamarindo is a bustling place with many young people enjoying the surf and well just being young! There a many surf instructors that can teach you how to surf and lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Large grocery stores and a great vibe. Expect traffic in town.

This is a fun excursion to see monkeys and various other animals. Locals bring injured animals and they nurse them back to health and release them but many choose to stay in the area. They also have a nice butterfly exhibit and a good gift shop.

City/town information
Playas Del Coco is a fun Beach town with many great shops and restaurants. Take a stroll along the beach and have a beverage at one of the many oceanfront bars. Coco is a little more low-key than Tamarindo but a fun place to visit!

A great day trip with so many shops and restaurants, even a casino! Here you can take surf lessons easily and people watch all of the beautiful young people. The sunsets are amazing from Tamarindo beach and Saturday there is a great farmers market here.
