Great pizza take-away, Napolitan style (high crust). Opens for dinner. Don't go there too early cause they start the wood oven quite late, I'd say from 7:30 pm they're good to go. Delivery also available through "The Food".

GELATERIA - Probably the most famous Gelateria in Florence. Renowned for its "Buontalenti" flavor. A bit of history: in 1979, to remember the inventor of gelato (the florentine Bernardo Buontalenti), the Florentine commerce association held a contest for the best gelato flavor. The Gelateria Badiani won the contest with its flavor named after the Florentine inventor, "Buontalenti", a mix of custard cream gelato and whipped cream, also known as "crema fiorentina". Although the true "Buontalenti" recipe will remain a secret for the years to come. Personally I find their gelato way too sweet, but hey that's just me.

A must go bakery in the area. Very famous for its "schiacciata", a type of savory bread (pronounced skjachata). To give you an idea, this bakery supplies its schiacciata to most of the grocery stores and bars in the neighborhood. Carbo-licious!

This is how Italians eat breakfast outside: a pastry and a coffee or cappuccino. Caffè Lorenzo opened in 2015 and it soon became the best and busiest bar and confectionery shop in the area. Quality pastries and delicious cappuccino. This is how we do it baby!

If you wanna try the famous Florentine style beefsteak this is the place to go. Known locally as “fiorentina”, this T-bone steak usually comes from the Chianina breed, and it's cooked rare. In this restaurant the price is €48/kg at the time of writing. Usually a steak for 2 comes to about 1.3 kg, so with a good bottle of red wine you're looking at €50/person at least. Not really the cheapest of meals. But if you wanna try the real fiorentina I suggest you don't go for the cheaper options. This is something you will remember for a long time, trust me :)
