Parks & Nature

Hike the 2-3 km trail to Port L'Hebert harbor where there is a Federal Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Great little hike any time but there are often hundreds of geese and ducks close to the trail in the late fall and winter. No sand beach.

This is a great little beach for a hike, swim, birdwatching or shell collecting. The water is warmer than most ocean beaches as it is in the sheltered harbour of Port Joli. Seals can often be seen on the rocks at low tide. The Port Joli Federal Migratory Bird Sanctuay is right there as well.

A vey popular and beautiful white sand beach only 10-15 minute drive from the cottage. Large beach which may be declared a provincial nature reserve. Delicate ecosystems which have the potential to be over run with visitors. Beach water is generally very cold. Parking and washrooms sometimes a problem. Be prepared to change plans to revisit this beach on another day if there is too much traffic.
