Beluga Lake is the float plane lake for Homer. All seaplane flightseeing tours depart from here. It's neat to stand on the road bridge at Lake Street and watch them fly right over your head at low level. Just below Old Town and easily accessible. Great place to wander the water's edge and watch for otters, whales, seals, porpoise, and other sealife. Wetlands back this beach, which makes for excellent bird viewing, especially when the migratory flocks come through in the spring.
