Best burritos around, closed on Tuesday, bring cash. They offer coconut wraps, if you can't eat flour tortillas, and they are amazing!!

We love going here for many meals - they typically close around 5pm on most days but Thursday they stay open till 8pm. Check their Facebook pages for times and you can always message them - they are great at responding! The tequila shrimp is amazing but Tony is always cooking up something special! Ask about the specials.

Breakfast is my favorite meal here but the view is what makes this restaurant most appealing. The food is good but the view is great! They accept cards and speak English pretty well.

Great store if you are looking for brands you may recognize - Walmart offers pretty much everything from fresh produce to towels to TV's. They also have 2 ATM's if you need cash. There are 2 Walmart's in Playa Del Carmen, this one is less crowded. IT's located on the jungle side.

Tons of shopping in Playa Del Carmen - wander around, taste test tequila for free, try to ignore the many vendors trying to talk you into their shop (just say "no gracias"), know everything is negotiable (if they won't give you the price you think is fair, walk out, they may quickly change their mind) and always bring cash.

I can't remember the name of the shop by it's right next to this restaurants main bar/beach cafe. They sell some of the coolest local art. She isn't a fan of haggling on prices so just know what is listed may be the price you pay. She accepts credit cards. While you're there grab lunch at the beach bar!

Everything Else

They have many bars and restaurants, you can watch dolphins swim around, hear live music and most everyone speaks English as it's a big gated expat community. We only go here for dinner, typically at Hippos or Latitude 20 (they have live music on Friday's). You'll feel like you are in FL more than in Mexico but it's worth checking out. Most places take cards but always carry cash. When you arrive at the security gate just tell them where you are going, they will want to see your license to write down your info and then they will let you in. Easy as that.

Drinks & Nightlife

They have live music on Friday's - it's inside the gated community of Puerto Adventura. There are many restaurants, shopping and a dolphin swim adventure... Once you get to the security gate just tell them where you are going, show your ID and they will let you in. Most places take cards (still have cash with you though), all speak English as it's a large expat community.

Parks & Nature

Great little cenote, doesn't cost much, bring cash... Don't go on a Sunday as it's packed with locals. You can snorkel in the fresh water, jump off a small "cliff". They don't allow sunscreen so either lather up before you get there or get the sunscreen with no chemicals that is all natural. Most places here don't like sunscreen chemicals in the water so it's not a bad plan to get some.

This is a larger cenote which is very nice - their is an alligator they feed so don't be surprised if you see him... Definitely ask about him. If you want to grab lunch there is a restaurant right on the beach which has great food (I love their burgers) and STRONG margaritas. Bring cash!!

I haven't done this yet but everyone says it's really nice. You can see a lot of animals, do a float, snorkel, etc... Look up their website for all their activities.

Sightseeing

Go see some ruins - they aren't far and it doesn't cost much... There are several people selling packages, bring cash, everything is negotiable! Ask to pay in pesos vs dollars if you can - that always saves you money. If you go in summer, just know there isn't shade so bring a hat and sunscreen - it gets HOT!!
