This is a tiki themed bar and restaurant and a MUST VISIT! Everything about this place is tiki--the mood lights, stormy volcanic eruptions, drink glasses, secret entrance, Polynesian decor. It's speak-easy style so the entrance is a bit hard to find. Look for the Poke shop and they will walk you through a freezer door to the tiki bar. I recommend calling ahead to make reservations. They do allow kids and even have high chairs, but the food is on the exotic side so it might be hard to order for the little ones. The food is more like Tapas or small plates.

December through April you can observe part of the amazing 10,000 mile annual migration of the Pacific gray whale from Alaska to Mexico. May through November means the migration of the great blue whales and mighty fin whales. Minke, humpback, and sperm whales are also possible sightings. All of these amazing whales are generally found 5 to 9 miles off shore feeding on our local banks. Throughout the year various types of playful dolphins (Short-beaked and Long-beaked Common, Pacific Bottlenose, Rissos, and Pacific white-sided) are encountered on most trips with some pods numbering into the thousands! These dolphins will regularly seek out the boat on their own to greet you.

From the free parking to the friendly staff and eclectic array of animals, this is a must-visit for anyone in the area. You also get so close to the animals at most attractions that you can get some wonderful photos, even if all you bring is your phone.
This baseball park is so beautiful.... the scenery from every angle is awesome. So many places to get a bite to eat and the fact that you can bring your own food in...order take out from nearby places and eat in the park is so great.... parking on the street is great after 6pm because the meters are free then... you can also park across the street near the civic center and walk the bridge over to the stadium.... such an awesome park.

Balboa Park is San Diego' s greatest single attraction. Beautiful in every way, and great for the entire family. Wonderful art, architecture, everything! Take my advice and park over at the old navy hospital and take the tram in.

This is by far the best aircraft carrier museum in the nation! The ship hosts all sorts of events and is a highlight of any visit to San Diego. A "City at Sea", thousands of men and women lived for weeks or months at a time on this massive ship. See where they slept, ate, got dental work, haircut, had their clothes laundered. In addition, the flight deck explains how planes took off and landed. Allow yourself 2-3 hours. There are simulator rides and a self-guided tour with headphones.
