There are beautiful botanical gardens in North Hagley park, and ample space in both North & South Hagley parks to kick a ball around. There are also good tracks to go for a scenic run around the park.

The Transitional Cathedral is the temporary replacement for the one which was destroyed in the earthquakes.. and it's made out of cardboard! It's a very cool building & has great acoustics

The Re:START Mall was erected shortly after the city opened after the earthquakes & is made out of bright coloured shipping containers! It's always bustling with lots of people & buskers.

Walk from Taylors Mistake around Godley Head following the Godley Heads track. There are great views and you can see old war fortifications.

This is a good walking (or mountain biking) track up to the top of the Port Hills where you'll get awesome views at the top over the city on one side & Lyttelton Harbour on the other side.
