Just because it is one of the sweetest cinema's I have ever been to - vintage and therefore the seats are not the most comfortable, but to make up for it there is a bar in the screening room - very Hastings - It plays arthouse movies, oldies and goodies and the odd mainstream film. Also a venue for other arty type things e.g. poetry recitals etc.

Food Scene

'Girls Gone Greek' - A Food Truck based just past the Azur Restaurant (btw - Azur is one to miss!). Hastings residents and food-lovers Nadia and Laura. Together they are Girls Gone Greek, serving the finest Greek delicacies to the usually sun-starved customers from their big gold van.

Really lovely restaurant/winebar who in their own words 'Utilise the bounty of nearby producers in Graze’s kitchen, sourcing our seasonal food as locally as possible'. If you want a delicious and nutritious breakfast then Graze is my favourite venue. Also they have fantastic wines and a wine knowledge to match.

A wonderful Italian restaurant - the italian waiters serve with wonderful flirty aplomb and the food is classic Italian Resto fare but really good. On a sunny day sitting outside is one of the best places to be in Hastings.

Drinks & Nightlife

Following The Dragon Bar's success in Shoreditch, the owners opened a brother/sister bar here in Hastings in 2007. Great for food and drink - in the centre of Old Town this is a meeting place for a lot of old towners (not on Friday - then mostly NewT's and tourists). - stolen from their website: 'There is great local produce with the beach just a stones throw away and we pride ourselves on using fresh local produce for our ever changing seasonal menu. This combined with live DJ’s at the weekends and local artwork all combine to create a great place to eat and drink'

Lovely Oyster Bar, wonderfully decorated (sort of chic Coronation Street ... maybe that's just me!) tiny venue - food is great (not for breakfast though!!!) - make the best cocktails in town - actually very good wherever you're from.

Getting Around

Great place to rent a bike - they rent their reconditioned bikes for sale secondhand for a great price of £10 a day. Definitely better than the clunky hire bikes at Pelham Crescent.
