Nori is close to the El tracks and is open late if you need Japanese. I find it loud and the sushi a bit over-elaborate, but this place has been around forever and is always packed.

This pan-Asian place tucked under the El tracks has a very wide selection of cheap and good eats. Try the curry/roti appetizer, it is amazing.
