Named for the famous motorcyle road going over the mountain, the Back of the Dragon offers great beer, coffee, food, and gift shop items. Can be accessed by driving Rte. 16 from Pocahontas. Keep going on Rte 16 over the mountain to reconnect to I81 if you dare. Over 400 turns in 30 miles is not for the faint of heart!

Interested in paranormal activity? If so, you are definitely more brave than me. You're also in luck since Lake Shawnee is considered one of the most hauntedlocations in the state if not the country and only a few miles away.

A great afternoon getaway located just up the road in Tazewell, VA. Cavitt's Creek Park has a decently sized lake with trails going most of the way around it. The lake is stocked with trout in the Spring and Fall and has a pretty good bass and catfish population as well. You can also rent pedal boats at the boathouse for an afternoon on the water.
