This place has some delicious burgers and other house-prepared meats. They also make a really good veggie burger. My favorite thing about the Chop Shop is you can order and pay online, and then swing by and pick up your order without having to wait in line.

This cozy breakfast café is one of my favorite Denver restaurants. The owners, Dorothy and Della, are good friends and they will make you feel right at home.

Everything Else

You should really go to Larimer Square while you’re here. There are several excellent (but pricey) restaurants there. A few that I highly recommend include Bistro Vendome for fabulous French food, Osteria Marco, Euclid Hall and Rioja.

Drinks & Nightlife

Denver has too many microbreweries for me to list them. The Wynkoop was the trend setter, and it's definitely worth a visit. Plus, our own Governor Hicklooper was one of the founders. Luckily, Westword Magazine has done a great job of describing Denver's beer scene. If you like beer, you’ve come to the right place! http://www.westword.com/restaurants/how-many-breweries-does-denver-have-a-list-of-every-denver-brewery-9546998

The Museum of Science and Nature is the best! It is so well done and includes several hands-on exhibits for kids. There is also an IMAX Theatre inside the Denver Museum of Science and Nature. And you can easily walk there from here.

If you’re looking for some great urban hikes, this is a great place to start. I like to go to the Star K Ranch as a starting point. It’s just a short drive from here, and there’s plenty of parking. I’ve seen deer, beaver, and coyotes there. http://www.gohikecolorado.com/star-k-ranch.html

Most people associate Colorado with the mountains, and so, don’t think to go east to get their nature fix. But consider taking a trip to Barr Lake State Park to get a feel for life on the plains. It’s really beautiful and it’s a bird paradise.

The Panorama Point trail at Corwina Park is a great little day hike if you want to get up and back down and still have lots of time to do other things. In fact, get up early, beat the crowds, do this hike and then have a late breakfast in Morrison. It’s the perfect way to start they day. You’ll pass the entrance to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on your way there, so it’s a great opportunity to visit that iconic site as well.
