Charm

Can be very busy in the summer, but has a timeless charm, great pubs and fantastic fish & chips. Sitting on the cliff top out of season with fish and chips and a local Adnams ale is heaven!

History

This has just one local Roman site worth seeing (Burgh Castle nearby being another). If you have an interest in our forebears and how East Anglia was a key Roman area of occupation, these are great places to visit

City/town information

Norwich was once the capital city of England. It's history is deep and can be seen in the old city walls, buildings and streets as you wander around. It's location makes it less hustling than other major English cities, so easy to take walking tours (or even river tours). The location of the Kett rebellion, it has played a key part in English history. Today it wows with its diversity, it's culture, its food.... It was always said that Norwich had a pub for every day of the year and a Church for every week of the year - now there's a challenge!

Bungay is a quintessential market town within a few miles of Ingloss Skies (one of many!). It has a charming centre with a number of cafes and independent shops; butchers, bakers, fish mongers etc. It also has two churches and its own Castle!

A larger market town and therefore with greater amenities, nevertheless it still has historic charm as well as river access for day trips
