The scenic Oranmore Castle is privately owned and caters for specific functions and events.
In Oranmore the restaurant and cafe scene is very good. There are two Italian restaurants , two Indian restaurants , 6 Pizza outlets , 1 Chinese and approx 5 takeaway restaurants and 3 hotels , all within 8 minutes walk, so there is something to suit everyone and to suit all budgets .
The village also has a multiscreen Cinema and Galway Bay Golf Club is only a 5 minute Drive out the Maree Road towards the Sailing Club and located adjacent to Renville Forest Park with very nice walks .
It takes just 15 mins to walk there from our B n B .

A great Local History Museum , free to attend but a donation would be appreciated . It is located in the heart of Galway just beside the Spanish Arch. The Galway Tourist Office is located here also , and it has a nice coffee shop. Great family venue and just near Quay Street , the centre of the Latin Quarter .
Parking is available nearby in the Jury's Inn Carpark or Hynes's Carpark on the docks.

Dunguaire Castle in Kinvara is a great venue to visit in scenic Kinvara just 20 mins drive. It hosts banquets . The cost is €63 euro per person , and can be booked online. Kinvara Town is also worth visiting . It has very nice street cafes and craft shops.

A Mausoleum built by the fFrench family in Monivea wood circa 1910. It has a crypt with two coffins in the basement. The key can be obtained from a house at the entrance gate to the wood.
It is just 20 minutes drive east from Oranmore. Great family forest walks and picnic areas also in Monivea wood.

Traveler advice
Getting around
Travelling around from Oranmore
Buses run from the Oranmore Town Centre to Galway and also stops at the Church Bus Stop opposite the Astroturf (nearer to our BnB ) every 30 mins. They leave at 10 mins past the hour and 20 mins to the hour . The bus is the 404 bus which goes directly to Eyre Square in Galway .
You will get the return bus to Oranmore in Eyre Square, bus stop #2 at the top of the square. Look for the visual display for 404 arrival times.
There is also a train station in Oranmore just 1 mile outside the village.

Fishing on the Corrib
