Walking

My personal choice is the six mile blue walk on a cold day followed by the log burner when I get back. I have maps to guide you.

Bailiffgate is a wide and tree lined street. Local, farm and estate traffic. Sightseers on foot. The bench outside St Michaels Church is a great place to sit and chat.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Walking is the best way.

As the house is in the town, walking is the best way around. If you are your companions require support, the town carpark is a good place to drive (remember to buy a disc from the machine for £1)
Don't miss

Thursday and Saturday is market day.

Look out for the owls.......
Customs and culture

Just be you

No matter who you are, Alnwick will welcome you.
Book before you go

Resturants

Book as far in advance as possible. The Cookie Jar, The Dirty Bottles, Adam and Eve are very popular.
What to pack

As they used to say at school, wear sensible shoes

Slopes, cobbles, flat paths, steps and open spaces are all here.
