Customs and culture

Avoid drinking tap water

In Mexico we dont usually drink tap water, try bottled or filtered water instead.
Getting around

There is no uber

We dont have Uber or other platforms in Tulum, so we recommend you renting car to be able to travel "long distances" to visit the ruins, cenotes and other places that might not be that close. Bike is a very common way of transport, and you can usually get to most places but keep in mind that the sun and heat can make it a bit unconfortable.

Snorkeling in front of Tulum Ruins

There are tours that take you on a boat where you can see the Tulum Ruins from the ocean (you can get great pictures from this view) and they usually take you snorkeling very close to the ruins. There you can swim with stingrays, fishes, you can see some coral reefs and sometimes even turtles.
