Parks & Nature

Superb, beautiful park that we are lucky to have so close to home! The Park is a personal favorite of mine for morning walks. Just walk up 9th street and straight in! There are many things to do and see in this park, appropriate for all ages. Excellent for running and biking. The park has some lovely paths to explore, noted for bird watching and for viewing lakeside wildlife. There are also vast areas to picnic and play sports. It also has other enjoyable activities for families. There is a zoo, carousel, boathouse, and skating rink with options to rent boats for the lake or bicycle carts to ride around the park. In the summer months, there's the Park Slope Bandshell right at the park entrance at 9th Street for live music in the evenings; the summer concert series is put on by "Celebrate Brooklyn." Great to go with a group and pack a picnic dinner!
