Drinks & Nightlife

David Zhou of David’s Restaurant and Oriental Teahouse brings Asian craft beers, a respectable wine list and sake to Chapel Street. Food comes straight out of the teahouse’s kitchen, so expect some very smart dim sum to join you on your stop.

Tucked away up a flight of stairs above Chapel Street is this atmospheric watering hole. With Connect Four games, cute cubbies to lounge in and five types of espresso martini, this is the spot for that end of week knock-off or Sunday session. Keep an eye out for their excellent happy hour specials, too.

Parks & Nature

Fawkner park is my urban sanctuary. It's where I go to escape the city buzz, get some fresh air, see some grass and greenery. Lots of business people walking through on their lunch breaks and folks travelling to and from their workplace by foot through the park during peak times. Kids playground and toilet facilities within the park... and a majority of the ovals are booked out over the summer months for team sports. Great park to go with friends in summertime for a picnic.

It is really such a tranquil walk, the regular joggers or bike riders are friendly. The sounds of the bells are quite calming to listen to, breaking away from the thoughts of work. Either sitting on a bench watching the rowers train on the Yarra or possibly just people watching!
