Okay...if you love pizza, we are so fond of the potato pizza here at Serious Pie. Thin crust. Interesting choice of pizza toppings. A few locations. This place was created by Tom Douglas who has MANY places in the downtown core of Seattle.

Sightseeing

This is what people come to see here in Seattle. It is full of fruit vendors and "flying fish" (a place where they throw the fish across the counter to each other.) There is also a gum wall in a hidden alley below the market. It has recently been cleaned off but you wouldn't know it.

While at Pike Place Market, don't miss the gum wall. Apparently, the city has recently done a clean up but it doesn't look all that different. Think of how many pieces of chewed gum have made it on to this monumental wall.

A very mini Panama Canal concept. It's great to be able to cross the locks in order to view the salmon run room and also fascinating to watch the boats use the canal.

A beach park which has fire pits, picnic shelters/tables, beach volleyball, sidewalk that stretches along the beach. You could ride a bike or stroll along the path. If you go all the way to the end of the path, it's quieter at that end of the park.

We love this strip of beach in West Seattle. Great place to take a stroll. It also has a miniature Statue of Liberty on the beach. If you want to see beach life in Seattle, this is the place to be. By the way, if the temperature reaches 60 degrees and it's not raining, that's when Seattlites shed their long pants and long sleeve shirts and trade them for shorts and sandals. There are lots of places to eat on Alki Boulevard.

A tiny "pocket park" right above our house. You will need to walk up a little hill to get to it but if you are there at sunset, it can be quite spectacular view! There is also a person-made dinosaur display directly across the street from the entrance to the park. You have to cross the street and look closely in order to see it. Funny and fun!

If you are here for longer than a few days and want to get in touch with nature, head here. It's about a 3.5 hour drive but well worth it. After hiking, go to the Lake Quinault Lodge for a drink in the lobby and enjoy the beautiful lake views.

A museum dedicated to modern culture. It used to be called Experience Music Project. They realized that it wasn't just music but also Sci-Fi focused and therefore changed the name. If you don't go in, the building itself is VERY interesting. It's on the same campus as the Space Needle.

The Seattle waterfront is the quintessential part of Seattle. It's under construction right now but don't let that scare you. From the waterfront, there are various ways (stair climbs and an occasional elevator) to be able to make your way up to the Pike Place Market and into the Seattle business core.
