This is a little oasis in the desert. Beautiful location,plenty of parking. Pets are allowed on leashes. There are covered picnic areas with grills, also bathrooms and fill up stations for your water bottles and pets. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes because it can be slippery.

Great hike for experienced hikers. Very strenuous! It's best to start early and bring plenty of water especially during the summer.

McKittrick Canyon is stunning! The first mile or so is deserty and sparse, but then once you get into the canyon, the views start to become beautiful. In November, the fall colors between Pratt Cabin and The Grotto are some of the best. Wear good shoes!

Rattlesnake Springs, a desert wetland, attracts reptiles and hundreds of bird species. Be sure to schedule the bat flight one evening!
