The center of activity on Mount Desert Island (MDI for locals), Bar Harbor is famous for its many restaurants and shops. Strolls through the neighborhoods and along the ocean adds interest. Check out all the choices on the internet. Parking can be a challenge. I suggest the Winter Harbor Ferry that takes into the heart of Bar Harbor for $15/person one way.
