You’ll need to make a reservation online, and it’s about a 40 minute drive from our Airbnb, but it’s a fantastic natural swimming hole with freezing cold water year round and lots of shade. We prefer it over Barton Springs Pool when we can snag a ticket.

Great coffee shop by day (Thomas' favorite Austin coffee!) , awesome natural wine/counter serve dinner spot by night. Awesome place to hang out in the summer evenings on the hard-to-find patio---just walk past the bathrooms out the back door! They have fun wine tastings and events every week, so check their website too!

Our favorite pizza/brewery spot in Austin. The Ooh La La and Honey Pear pizzas are fantastic, and their local Jellyfish IPA is infamous.

The best Indian food in town. Its just a junky roadside food truck with a picnic table that serves food in to-go containers, so don't expect a restuarant. We recommend the lamb biryani, samosas, and chicken tikka masala. Funky hours, so check google maps to make sure they're open.

Not our all-time favorite BBQ spot, but still a solid choice. Its one of the few BBQ spots that is open for dinner. If you want our favorites (Mickelthwait and LA BBQ, you'll have to venture there for lunch!)

Stuff for kids

A great fully shaded splash pad in Austin in you need to let your kids cool off in the summer. It’s walkable from Juiceland if you want to grab a smoothie beforehand :)
This is a great place to take small children if they are traveling with you! Also a beautiful place in general if you are into wildflowers/botanical gardens. Its a bit farther out of the city center as a forewarning (about 25 min from downtown)
