Neighborhoods

Your are located close to the wonderful Bergmankiez which is just a 5 minutes’ walk. You will find there the Marheinike Markthalle with a lot of authentic berlin food stands - try the Italian place - mama cooks the best pasta in this area ;) Also the vegan burgers are a must and bakery goods are highly recommended, as all the bakers in the area are not as good. Especially the one on the ground floor or the building is not really recommended ;) The Kebab 36 on the other hand is amazing. The guys also do some good veggie variants! The Späti is open all day long except Sundays. Same rule applies to all kind of shops in Berlin so if you plan to buy your food, souvenirs, or drinks, better don’t leave it for Sunday as you won’t find many places which are open! When it comes to typical tourist attractions a throw with a stone is the “Deutsches Technik Museum” which is quite interesting, especially for children. Viktoria Park, Tempelhof Feld, Gleisdreieck Park are your escape into the nature. Absolutely wonderful for an amazing view over Berlin! Viktoria Park is highly recommended for a chilled afternoon on a blanket with some chilled rosé (Wein & Vinos in Mittenwalder Straße Account: HEINRICH - just around the corner ;) and fruits. Gleisdreieck Park is more of a proper stroll or even a ride with the bike. You can also rent it, in our building. When you are in the centre of Gleisdreieck Park, you’ll find BRLO to stop for a cold beer or some amazing fries. Tempelhof is an old airport where people these days use it for strolling around, roller skating, skateboarding or flying kates. If you are searching for a lovely dinner place, we highly recommend to book in advance, as you are now the cool kid, in the most hyped area! You might want to eat at UMAMI – Indochinese kitchen. For real experience go to the back, to the wooden podest at the end of the restaurant, take your shoes off and enjoy! Pizza and Pasta, even outside on a late sunny evening is - a 8-minute walk, Fratelli La Bionda! If don’t have enough time for a proper afternoon to lay in the park and enjoy the sun, you can have a walk up to the canal, Cross the Waterloo bridge and go to your right (east) and walk all the way to “La Maison” where you can dinf the best croissants in the town. In the afternoon they also serve chilled drinks. 20 Minutes stroll and a wonderful authentic berlin experience!

Traveler advice

Getting around

Transport details

The best way, in our opinion, to explore Berlin is by bike  You can find bike rental place on the very left site of the building – corner with Mittenwalderstraße. Abnother way is obviously to take a ride by famous Ubahn or double deck bus. U-Bahn Gneisenaustraße (line U7) and U-Bahn Mehringdamm (line U6 and U7) are both just 500m away. You also have Bus stops directly in front of the doors – Line 248 or M4.
Ways to save

Groceries

Groceries: For a reasonable price with a lot of choice, easy to reach with your bike - EDEKA Bergmannstraße. REWE Yorkstraße, with better parking, if you go by a car - 5 minutes away.
