Sightseeing

A light trip away - take the W line from Lamar Station to the Mile High Stadium station. Truly a fantastic experience. Incredibly immersive installations. One installation inside the galactic laundromat is done by the artist that painted the mural in the sun room - Wander Weird!

Very popular park. A sidewalk circles the lake that is packed with rollerbladers, dog walkers, and joggers. Nicer places to relax with a blanket on the northeast side of the lake.

Green Mountain is an open space area with lots of trails and great views! Not a lot of shade, and it will get crowded on the weekends.

Food scene

A not so subtle rip off of Seattle's Public Market Center, this hip take on a food court has several local restaurants inside. Great Arepas, Ethiopian, Poke, and Pizza. Sometimes live music, nice rooftop seating area - the perfect solution for food indecision.

The Denver Post ranked this pizza shop as the best in Denver in 2021. I don't know if I agree - but it is close by, friendly, and seems to be pretty authentic. It usually closes pretty early, so plan ahead! d

Super friendly owner, great Pad Thai, great Curry. A much more accessible place than the more sought after US Thai (which is also a good option, if you can put up with the line!)

This is the best example of the new wave Mexican food scene. Vegan options, great ingredients, grounded in the Latino/Chicano culture that has thrived in Denver since before Colorado was a state. Worth a trip!

Then stop by Creature Arcade and Art@6. There will be a festival of people exploring the galleries and spilling out into the street. Music, food, and merriment!

Traveler advice

What to pack

Plan for the weather!

Even in the summer the weather can change in flash! Always bring some layers especially if you are going to the mountains. You are also at altitude, so bring water and hydrate often. Sunscreen and snacks make for happy campers!
Getting around

Getting around

Denver is pretty darn easy to get around. We are 4 blocks from the lamar station light rail, which will connect you to most of the city. We are also close to the Colfax bus, #16, which can have a rougher crowd but is often more direct. Other than that, get a scooter or rent a bicycle from Golden Bikes or Peak Cycles.
