Nice local pub by the River. Beautiful place to sit and have drinks or food. It is just over a mile to walk there from the shepherds hut but is worth it for a great spot by the river.

Parks & Nature

Stunning walks and amazing views, although can be a bit muddy in the winter months, Arger Fen is a wonderful place to go for long walks through the woods. In the early spring the floors are carpeted with bluebells. It is possible to walk there from the Shepherds Hut but its around a 30 minute walk away. You can also drive to Arger fen and park your car just outside the woods. Feel free to take along a picnic. You will find various picnic benches around the woods.

Dedham, a quiet and peaceful village right on the Suffolk, Essex boarder about about a 15 minute drive away. John Constable went to school in Dedham and would walk back across the meadows to his home in neighbouring East Bergholt, drinking in the scenery which would later move him to paint some magnificent local views. Today, the area is affectionately referred to as Constable Country. In the summer you can even rent a boat and row down the river or have a picnic.
