Shopping

If you need a convenience store for some necessities, the best walkable place is the 7-11 on Washington. Do not use the one on Venice, as there is a homeless encampment nearby and safety is a concern.

Traveler advice

Don't miss

Best Beach?

We often get this question, and the closest beach is also one of our favorites! Drive west on Washington (about 4 miles) all the way to the ocean, and the street ends at a parking lot on the beach. Locals simply call it the beach at the end of Washington. It far enough away from the busy areas of Venice and Santa Monica so that you can really enjoy the waves and sun, but there are conveniences like bike and beach rentals and plenty of places to eat.
Getting around

Walking in Culver City

There are so many walkable places here! Out of our driveway, turn right (south) and you will find great food, parks, and convenience stores all around us. We love walking all of the neighborhoods for exercise, too. You will notice the homeless everywhere in Los Angeles, and Venice Blvd which runs along the northern part of Culver City has several encampments. For that reason, we do not recommend walking west on Venice Blvd, under the 405 freeway.
Getting around

Mailing a Package

The most walkable place to mail a package is The Culver Mailbox on Washington Blvd.
Getting around

Urgent Medical Care

It’s 2 miles away, so better to drive, but the best, closest urgent care facility is Exer Urgent Care on Venice Blvd. if you are able to drive but need an Emergency Room, we recommend UCLA medical center, either in Westwood or Santa Monica. For medical emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
Getting around

Laundry services

If you need to do some laundry, we recommend this local laundromat, 5 minutes away: Laundry Room Culver City. They have a website that shows their services. There are closer laundry services on Venice Blvd, but the homeless population on that street my present a challenge.
