For centuries, the Frederiksberg Gardens has been a favourite outing spot for Copenhageners. Svendsen's Boat Service (Svendsens Bådfart) provides rowing tour that will give you a good idea of the vastness of the gardens.

The largest Park in Copenhagen is just two stops by S train line F from our house. It contains various theme gardens including a fruit orchard, a water garden, a rose Garden, a garden for the disabled, Hans Christian Andersen's Oriental Garden, a garden for dahlias, a kitchen garden, a herb garden and more. The park has a lovely lake at the beginning and on the other end is a sea. Good for a long walks. Cafe Rosenhaven is open between 12 and 19. Lunch available.

Niels Hemmingsensgade connects it in opposite directions to Amagertorv and Skindergade, Løvstræde connects it to Købmagergade to the east and Gråbrødrestræde connects it to Klosterstræde to the west. The square is characterized by colorful house fronts and dominated by a large plane tree. There is also a fountain in granite, designed by Søren Georg Jensen and inaugurated in 1971. The square is lined by a number of restaurants with out-door service and is a popular venue for small out-door concerts, particularly during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
