The best place in Sebastian to get fresh fish (daily caught), shellfish, crabs, condiments, side items and advice on how to cook it. Locally owned and operated and they have their own commercial fishing boat that provides mush of the catch. The market is closed Monday’s, Open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 4:30pm, and open Sunday 11am to 4pm. If you want fresh sashimi grade tuna, then Crab E Bills is the place. The adjoining restaurant severs amazing lunches, 11am to 3:45, indoor and outdoor seating available. Get the root beer float, it’s worth it. It’s our favorite place for fish sandwich.

We think it has the best Bar-B-Que in the area and the Steak Burger is also a show stopper. Really cannot go wrong with the steak burger!! The atmosphere is fun as the restaurant is set up in the former Grant Train Station, and the kitchen is in an adjoining caboose. It also offers home made ice cream from the ice cream parlor which is part of the restaurant.

Really good food, with a fantastic view of the marina and the Indian River. The chef does a great job with daily specials. The steaks are really top notch, and little unexpected from a place called the Old Fish House. Locally owned and operated, local hangout with fresh fish brought in daily.

Up scale dining, with fantastic beachside (Atlantic Ocean) views, overlooking historic Vero beach. Excellent food, superior service, recommend that you make reservations. Lunch is 11am to 2pm, the dinner 5pm to 10pm. Not really a place for kids, beachwear note acceptable in the restaurant, casual dress, collared shirt for dinner.

Fantastic view of the Indian River. Live music outside with beautiful Tiki Bar and lounge overlooks the river. Highly recommended the clam chowder, excellent chef with a well thought out menu. The Tiki Hut at The Shack was built by the same company that built the TIki Hut at our Coral Oasis, however we were first with our built in 2017, The Shack had their built in 2020.

Local favorite for Hot Wings, right on a marina, but know we do not recommend the Outriggers Bar and Grill as a place suitable for kids. It is truly a dive bar, great place for a cold PBR and wings.

If you forget something when headed to the beaches, don’t sweat it, Beach Bites has you covered. They also have a great deli/sandwich shop. The owners were from the Philadelphia area, we like to get cold deli subs, with sweet tea and potato chips for our outings at the beach. The place is so good that the guests of the adjacent Disney Vero Beach Club often hit it up. Great menu and super friendly staff.

Sightseeing

We like it because it’s the first beach you encounter from the mainland. It also has lifeguards, bathrooms, a little store with a deli right next to the parking lot. About the only detractor is the limited parking. If the parking lot is full head a mile or two north to the other State Beaches.

A great beach, never really crowded, bathrooms, portions may be closed during Sea Turtle hatchling seasons. If this beach is closed head a mile or two north to Treasure Shores Park.

Great place for would be treasure hunters and enthusiasts. Learn how the famous treasure hunter Mel Fisher found and retrieved the lost treasure of the Spanish gold fleet that was shipwrecked in 1715 just few hundred yards from the beach. I took my grandsons there and they loved it.

Step back in time and see some of the real treasures that were lost to the ocean until Mel Fisher retrieved them. This museum is partner to his other museum in Key West, but the Sebastian Museum was the first since this the 1715 horde was recovered off the beach a few miles away, was his first big success in removing treasure, thus the name of the area we enjoy “The Treasure Coast”!

While you are technically staying in or on the Treasure Coast of Florida, the Space Coast is the northern portion of Brevard County and the Kennedy Space Center is a mere 45 minutes north. Not just a bucket list for an older generation, but more importantly a seat of so many sparks of imagination for kids. See, touch and roam amounts the giants that took man off this planet into the final frontier. Every time we go there, I still get a thrill! We are absolutely thrilled when our guests get to witness a space launch from the house, or witness them up close from Titusville or Cocoa Beach.

Boat Rental

The boat is a 21 foot StarCraft with a 150hp Yamaha outboard engine. The vessel is registered in the State of Florida and resides on a trailer here at Coral Oasis. The boat is available for rent through a different service. Florida now has some very stringent Boat Rental laws which require a certain level of “rental insurance”. We offer the boat a greatly reduced price to our guest. As a guest you can tow the trailer yourself if your vehicle is equipped to tow trailers. Or we will drop and pickup the boat at the local public boat launch 2.5 miles north of Coral Oasis on US HWY 1. The boat comes with all the US Coast Guard approved life vests, as well as an assortment of neoprene water skiing vests that are more suited for water skiing. We have several small child life vests as well. The Bimini top offers great out of the sun protection. There are coolers in the garage that can be utilized on board. The boat has a new (2022) Sonar/depth/fish finder with map plotter, also has water skis, tow rope and swivel anchors. It does have a stereo system that you can Bluetooth with. However the stereo is not robust enough to hear over the engine while underway. Contact Debbie for more information about the boat rental, and we’ll be happy to make your Indian River Water Excursion a reality.
Rent this pleasure craft while you are a guest of either Coral Oasis or Boater Retreat at greatly reduced rate. Ask Debbie about the rental rates and other information if interested.

Recreation

Do you want to swim laps or take little ones to a water park without the drive to Orlando. Then check out the North County Pool (Indian River County) Municipal Pool. Low Prices, pay daily or if you are staying awhile, then buy the monthly ticket. It’s a great place to do laps, or join one of the aqua groups for water aerobics.
Want to keep up with your swimming laps while on vacation? Then we totally recommend the North County Pool. Cheap daily or monthly rates, with established times for lap swim and other aqua/water aerobics. Local Swim teams utilize the pool as well, and often have swim meets on weekends.

One of the many great State Parks we have here in Florida. Inexpensive daily admission, senior citizen and military retiree discounts are available. Great for camping, day picnics, or boating. You can rent a pavilion that has a bar-b-que grill, just bring charcoal! The park is consistently busy on weekends and holidays, but thins out pretty good during the week even during the summer. The park is also a great place to fish from the shore, the lower bridge, and the jetty along the channel. The current really rips though the slot and is extremely dangerous. Only swim in designated areas please.
