Highly recommend, especially if it's a rainy day - the island has so much history that you need to see to appreciate.

Visit the oldest home on island! A quick bike ride in town, and then walk through coffin park to something natural for some fresh baked bread, soup, or sandwich (check their off season hours before you go!)

Rentals

Sandy Pedals bike share is going to be one of the only options to rent bikes during the off season-- which we highly recommend renting bikes at least one of the days you are here because the bike trails are beautiful and it's a great way to explore the island.

Traveler advice

Book before you go

The Off Season

The off season here is beautiful -- it's really the best time to be here. The high season runs from the end of April (daffodil weekend) until mid October. After that, there are a lot of stores and restaurants that close until Thanksgiving/ Christmas stroll. So definitely call ahead to some spots before you arrive if there are certain activities you want to do, they may or may not be open!
What to pack

Bring all the options!

With the off season comes ever changing weather, bring the bathing suit, the rain coat, rain boots, and layers. It could be warm, chilly, hot, rainy -- the weather changes fast here!
