A beautiful crescent of golden sand belonging to the National Marine Park.
From the end of June, the sea turtles Caretta Caretta come to lay their eggs. Out of 1000 eggs only very few hatch.
If you are lucky you might see little turtles comig out of their nests early in the morning or at sunset.
Please just admire them without interfering as they need to walk by themselves to the water, to be strong enough to swim.
The beach has some umbrellas for rent and is not accessible between sunset and 7am, to allow nature to do its magic.
No bars or watersports and no dogs allowed on the beach.
Enjoy a wonderful sunset at Gerakas beach and a swim in the cleanest sea!
