North Shore Tacos has a truck by Sharks Cove. Amazing fish tacos! The taco salad is huge with a jalapeño surf sauce that is to die for! Don't miss this if you are craving some Mexican food for lunch. They also have an actual restaurant on the other side of Turtle Bay in La'ie about a 20 min drive from the house that is open until 9 pm, and well worth the drive.

Around Waimea Bay there is a botanical garden in the valley behind the bay with a nice paved nature walk. It is flat sidewalk, so it is an easy stroll. There is an entrance fee. There is a waterfall in the far back that you can swim under but the lifeguard on duty requires you wear a lifejacket.

Just across the road from the house is Sunset Beach Elementary School. Walk across to the school parking lot and you will see in the woods directly across a small opening in the forest. This is a trail head for a fun 2 hour hike up to some WWII Bunkers. Head straight up the steep trail for about 15 minutes. After the third rope section or just past the cave it will level off a bit and open up. Here is where the trail divides slightly. Stay on your left. You will be greeted by a great view 3 minutes after making the left. Continue straight on the trail for another 10 minutes and you will reach the 1st bunker. Enjoy the view, and continue on in the same direction on the same trail. It slightly

Drinks & Nightlife

Surfer Magazine's bar at Turtle Bay has good food and a relaxed atmosphere. Great place to hear some local bands or just have a drink and some food. They stop serving food at 10 pm but the bar is usually open until 2 am. Tuesday night from 7-11 pm is open mic night and they also do karaoke. Extremely fun and there is a lot of amazing talent that regularly showcases Tuesday nights. During surf season they have events and you can usually spot a few pros if you look.
