Enjoy markets on a Wednesday and Saturday, stroll the busy shopping streets and enjoy refreshments at countless quality cafes bars and restaurants. The Minster is must-see but St Mary’s is also stunning and it sits opposite the wonderful coronation gardens. The historic Westwood pasture has its own entry.

This HUGE lake was left behind by the glaciers and has a fascinating history. Public footpaths only give you a few places to take in its magnificence so calling in to the boathouse to have a cuppa or rent a rowing boat is well worth it.

Hornsea Beach
Please CHECK TIDE TIMES. The sea comes right up to the mud cliffs to the north and south of Hornsea. It’s fantastic to walk here but you must make sure you allow enough time to reach your destination or get back before the tide cuts you off. SWIM SHOES are necessary to stop a nasty weever fish sting. AVOID BOAT LAUNCH area if you are swimming. The other side of the groynes to the north and south is fine. Hornsea Rescue or the Coastwatch team can give proper advice.
