Traveler advice

Getting around

General's Quarters is within walking distance of everything.

Once you arrive you'll be able to easily walk to Main St, local brewery, park, historical sights, and the river front. You can rent a golf cart, but many visitors have found it easy to walk to get around. There is also plenty of parking should you choose to drive.
Customs and culture

Madison is a slower pace with friendly people.

The reason we fell in love with Madison is because of the people. The midwest hospitality is real here. The slower pace and friendly people will make your trip even better. Be prepared to smile and say hello!
Traveling with kids

Madison is kid-friendly

The best park is located just a 1-2 minute walk from General's Quarters. It is new and has soft flooring, swings, and a ship jungle gym. Located next to it is ChillBillie's - a good way to bribe the kids to leave. There is also Bicentennial park right next to GQ which includes a large open space for running and playing.
