Since 1974, two bourgeois representation rooms can be visited in their original furnishings with stucco, painting and furniture. Other rooms, the staircase, the front garden and yard as well as the idyllic garden are accessible.
In 1893, Fritz Heyn had a representative house built by his Berlin architect Ernst Froehlich on his property in Heynstrasse 8. The family lived in the Beletage, a generously sized and well-appointed apartment on the first floor.

The Schönholzer Heide , a popular tourist destination in the 19th century, was the location of a large forced labor camp during the Second World War . After the war, here in the northwestern part of the park, together with the cenotaphs in Tiergarten and Treptower Park, the third Soviet memorial was erected in Berlin.
