The Chile rellenos are super good here - and the bar lounge has entertainment occasionally. Of course they serve other items but that's my favorite!

The Rio Grande Gorge is a must see in Taos. Local geologists say it was caused by an earthquake some 5000 years ago! It's a beautiful spot and a camera ready attraction.

Traveler advice

Customs and culture

River Rafting from any company from spring to late summer

You need a reservation. Usually am and pm rides. The race course has some exciting and not really dangerous turns, and if you're not wanting that, there are 1/2 day floats that are wonderful for pure relaxation.
Traveling with kids

Twirl is a fun place for kids to play and climb and have fun

Not sure the hours or cost but if your kids need to have some fun, they are there!
Customs and culture

Hiking is everywhere in the Taos area.

Orilla Verde - pretty nice place near the Rio Grande for hiking. Another great place and you can picnic here is the Rio Grande Gorge. Easy to find with GPS. Taos Ski Valley has numerous places to pull over and take a great hike.
Getting around

Biking can be dangerous in certain area.

Steer very clear of traffic and bike defensively please. Call the local bike shop to see the best places for mountain biking if that's your sport.
