Another quaint little harbour town with lots of little unique shops and restaurants. They also have a Sainsbury’s and Lidl’s. Boat trips can also be taken from the harbour side.

Food scene

Totnes has many unique places to eat especially if you are vegetarian or vegan. There is a wonderful market there on a Friday and Saturday. Lots of one off boutiques to visit too.

Great place to eat. Local farm shop and a very cool lifestyle store, Relish, that sells unique furniture.

This is my local favourite for lunch or afternoon tea. A lovely garden centre with unique little shops. Beautiful local walks along the River Avon and Loddiswell Woods.

Beach

These are some of our favourite beaches. With rock pools, safe sea and sand (not fine sand)

They do the best chips and fish if you eat it at The Start Bay Inn. There is parking and a huge strip of beach with safe waters to swim.

This is our favourite beach. If you get there early you’ll get parked, but it seems to get busier and busier each year. There is also a village pub and other take away that does fresh seafood. On Sundays and bank holidays the little church sells delicious cakes and tea all donated by the locals.

We tend to avoid this beach but it’s a must for surfers and families. There is plenty of parking with a cute van that sells pizzas, cakes and sandwiches. The country lanes can be tricky so get there early. Only 4 miles from Prospect Villa.
