DC is very accessible on a budget
The Capitol, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress are all a one mile walk from the apartment. Keep walking past the Capitol for incredible views of the National Mall and the Washington Monument.
The National Arboretum is free to the public, offering beautiful gardens and striking views of the National Capitol Columns https://www.usna.usda.gov/
The Smithsonian Museums, when open, are all free to the public and offer 19 world-class museums, galleries, gardens and a zoo. https://www.si.edu/museums
Getting around
Walk, metro, or bike the city
Walk - DC is incredibly walkable, and you'll find the Capitol and start of the National Mall just one mile away
Metro - Eastern Market Metro is .5 miles away, offering access to the blue, orange, and silver Metro lines.
Bus/Amtrak/Marc - Union Station is just 1.3 miles away, also offering access to the Metro red line
Capitol bikeshare - DC is very accessible via bike thanks to Capitol bikeshare, and the nearest dock is just one block from the apartment
