Entertainment & Activities

- Cash only at the concessions counter but you can get cash at the check in line - I recommend bringing lunch and eating at the picnic tables down by the playground (they don't want you bringing outside food to the concession stand tables for obvious reasons). However, I went a few weekends ago and there were so many consecutive birthday parties going on that there was no seating anywhere, so we ended up eating in our car. Maybe bring a picnic blanket in case this happens to you. - The snack bar stocks the typical unhealthy stuff but we always get a twist cone (they do sell adult and kiddies sizes.)- There are a few port-a-pottys but I recommend using the restroom up by the train/concession

This is the coolest little museum ever. The tour guide was great you get to touch real dinosaur fossils and everything is interactive. Definitely do the tour. The lab was the best part I think and we loved the live lizards as snakes. Gift shop reasonably priced and geared for kids. Great time.

from a yelp reviewer ---"Mount Evans Scenic Byway is truly a special place, and dare I say it the crown jewel of the Denver Mountain Parks System. If you love to drive, this is also one of America's most scenic and epic drives. Hairpin curves, amazing 1000+ft vertical drops with only that little tiny guardrail between you and a drop to the valley below, gorgeous alpine vistas, bristlecone pines, and better and better views as you go higher and higher...it's all of that. It's a drive that while beautiful can also get your heart racing like few drives can."
