Great place for people watching and to eat the most traditional cut of beef in Brazil: Picanha. Order a Picanha ao Braseiro (with broccoli rice, fries and "farofa") and, unless you're extremely hungry, it will feed 3. Maybe 4. Crowded for after beach lunch on weekends. Thursday nights are also fairly popular.

It is all about the music. This tiny bar has no menu and is so little that only fits one table - reserved to the musicians. Guests do stand at the streets and grab their own beer from the fridge - no waiter or bar attender. To respect neighbours, no clapping hands at the end of songs, but snapping fingers. Doesn't sound appealing? Some of the BEST samba and choro musicians will Brazil play there. For free. ; )
