Sightseeing

One of Hong Kong's oldest and most atmospheric temples.Man Mo Temple, on 126 Hollywood Road (Halfway along the road, near the corner of Ladder Street), is perhaps not the most magnificent of Hong Kong's Chinese temples, but it is full of atmosphere and is well worth visiting. Famous for the hundreds of incense coils that suspend from its ceiling and saturate the air with their aromatic scents, this old temple was built in the late 1840s in honor of two gods, namely Man, the god of literature (Known as either Man Tai or Man Cheong) and Mo, the god of war, who is better known as Guan Yu (A general during the late Eastern Han Dynasty, who started to be worshipped as a deity after his death).

The market comprised of two sections: The South Block on Queen's Road Central was built in the 1850s but had already been demolished more than twenty years, while the North Block (the one you are about to visit) was built in 1906 and is a declared historical monument, so Hong Kong's real estate sharks can't tear it apart. The market is open daily, from 10am to 7pm, and other than traditional Chinese shops that sell everything, from souvenirs and cheap fakes to jade stones and handcrafts, it boasts a nice restaurant on the 3rd floor (Treasure Inn) and some good fabric shops.

Hollywood Road Park is marked as Possession Point. Possession Point is the location where the Royal Navy landed on Hong Kong Island, before the signing of the Treaty of Nanking. The commander of Far East Fleet, James John Gordon Bremer, came to Hong Kong via the HMS Calliope on 26 January 1841. A flag raising and gun ceremony marked the official possession of Hong Kong, and the landing venue was renamed as Possession Point. Hollywood Road Park is also the site of the former Tai Tat Tei (or Dai tat dei, lit. "large piece of land"), which was nicknamed the "poor man's nightclub" in the 1960s and 1970s. The Tai Tat Tei was popular bazaar market.

Shopping

Here, you will find stores such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Hermes, Jimmy Choo, etc. Of course, the mall is designed very nicely to match all these top notch stores in Hong Kong. If you're lucky, you could probably run into a few movie stars here.

Expensive, high-class shopping centre with upscale stores - LV, Cartier, etc. It's directly connected/accessible to the MTR station and there is an exit on the 2nd floor out to the Hong Kong Botanical Garden, which is definitely worth a look whether in the summer or winter!
